Both locally and nationally acclaimed, the Clayton High School Speech and Debate Club represents the school in forensics tournaments throughout the year. We meet at 7:30AM on Tuesday mornings. If you want to more about the club, just pop in sometime or ask Ms. Bollinger or a club member... or you can just ask Dylan Cocksan to recite his "Skippidy Doo Chihuahua" story or check out the club board by room 2.
Contention 1: S&D offers countless opportunities to excel, engage in, and explore all sorts of forensics events through competitions, amazing coaches (Ms. B, Mr. J, and Mr. S), and helpful team members.
Contention 2: The knowledge gained from Speech & Debate extends into real life. Many students say that the club helps a lot with English class. Job interviews and class presentations, of course, all involve oral communication.
Contention 3: You'll meet a lot of friends that you can socialize with, practice your ten minute oratory with, or play cards with on long bus-trips to Kickapoo.
